Does the discount apply to insurance-paid claims?
No. The Peace Officer Discount is available on customer-pay repairs only. California law (Penal Code § 551(b)) restricts how repair shops can structure pricing on insurance-paid work, so this discount cannot be applied when an insurance company is paying the bill. If you're paying out of pocket — including for work below your deductible — the discount applies.
Are retired peace officers eligible?
